Great Hearts Shakespeare: Unrehearsed! presents Cymbeline
Join us on the adventure of a lifetime as a group of foolhardy students and faculty bravely put on Shakespeare’s most ambitious work: Cymbeline. This play encompasses many genres, spanning across empires, jumping o’er times, with enough plot to fill at least SIX plays: princes and princesses, kidnappings, war between ancient Britain and Rome, beheadings, rugged mountaineers, ghosts, prophecies, gods, wagers, villainous Italians, and true love.
The catch: students and faculty will be performing this play completely UNREHEARSED, following the technique of Original Practice which some scholars now believe is how Shakespeare’s plays were first performed. It will be as though you are attending the world premiere of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline in the year 1611 – expect chaos, surprise, and delight.
