Financial Assistance

Great Hearts Irving is proud to serve our community in any way we can. While funds are limited, we are committed to providing as much assistance as possible with EduKits (school supplies), uniforms, and Classics to Keep. Families who qualify can also benefit from the federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program (FRL) to provide meals during the school day.

See below for more information about each program.

Financial Assistance for the 2022-2023 School Year

If you would like to apply for financial assistance for EduKits and uniforms, you will need to complete a Preliminary Financial Assistance Eligibility survey by Monday, May 31st, 2022.

Lower School Prelminary Financial Assistance Eligibility Form

Upper School Preliminary Financial Assistance Eligibility Form

After we have had time to review the application and determine your qualification, you will be contacted with the eligibility results in mid-June. Great Hearts bases eligibility for financial assistance on income levels equivalent to those that qualify families for the federal FRL program. This application only applies to EduKits and uniform vouchers. Due to the deadline we have for placing our school supply orders through EduKit, any applications received after May 31st, 2022 will not be eligible to receive assistance with EduKits.

Please note the Preliminary Financial Assistance Eligibility form does not qualify you for the federal FRL program. The official 2022-2023 FRL application will be available in summer (late July 2022). If you would like to apply for Free or Reduced Lunch program, you will need to complete that form separately.

EduKits (School Supplies)

All families who qualified for financial assistance in the preceding school year, as well as those who qualified after completing the Preliminary Financial Assistance form, will have EduKits ordered for their child(ren) free of charge. These will be delivered to the Upper and Lower School campuses. We will reach out to let you know when they have arrived so that you may pick them up prior to the start of school.

Uniforms

Families who qualify for financial assistance are also eligible to receive vouchers (gift certificates) for use in purchasing school uniforms. We will provide $100 in vouchers for each qualifying student. All vouchers are for Dennis Uniforms and are redeemable online or over the phone.

Vouchers will be distributed during the summer months for those who qualify, while supplies last.

PSO also holds an annual Used Uniform Sale during the summer as a low cost option for families. Plans for that event are still being finalized, but do stay tuned for updates.

If you have additional questions or concerns regarding uniform vouchers, please reach out to Gabriel.Zayas@greatheartsirving.org for the Lower School or Joe.Taylor@greatheartsirving.org for the Upper School.

Classics to Keep

We highly encourage all families to purchase their own copies of our Classics to Keep so that our students can build their own library of literary classics and be able to return to the wisdom and joy contained within in years to come. Most can be acquired at low cost from used booksellers.

If this is not possible for your family, we will gladly provide your child with copies of the texts for use during the school year upon request. Please reach out to Gabriel.Zayas@greatheartsirving.org for the Lower School or Joe.Taylor@greatheartsirving.org for the Upper School for more information.

Financial Assistance for Meals

While we are delighted that all Great Hearts Irving families will be receiving free meals this school year, we encourage you to submit an application for Free or Reduced Meals for other discounts and benefits to our school if you think you might qualify. That application is available now; apply any time.

You will need your child’s MealTime ID in order to apply. If you did not receive your child’s MealTime ID in an email from Great Hearts Texas on June 30th, please reach out to Joe.Taylor@greatheartsirving.org for Upper School students, or Gabriel.Zayas@greatheartsirving.org for Lower School students.

P-EBT Benefits Information

Some Texas families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals during School Year 2021-2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic will receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) food benefits. Information about this year’s P-EBT benefits, including eligibility requirements and benefit amounts, will be released in mid-April.

One requirement for P-EBT is that students must be certified as eligible for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at their Texas school during the 2021-2022 school year. Receiving free meals at school does not automatically qualify a child for P-EBT. You will also need to make sure to notify your Registrar regarding any COVID related absences, if you have not done so already.

Click here or below to apply for Free & Reduced Price Lunch if you have not since August 1st, 2022.
