Great Hearts’ mission is to cultivate the minds and hearts of our scholars in the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty through a rigorous education in the classical, liberal arts tradition. Our ESL program allows us to meet the needs of scholars who speak a language other than English at home and ensure that we are providing equal access to this incredible education to all students.
Each year, we invite parents of English learners into our building for ESL Night to provide an introduction to our English as a Second Language program here at Great Hearts Irving.
This year we will be hosting the event in person in the Middle School “Athena” building. Parents of Lower, Middle, and Upper School English learners are welcome to attend. The event is designed for parents only, however, so please leave your children at home.

You are cordially invited to the ESL Night at 5:30 p.m. in the middle School MPR #1 behind the front desk on Thursday, November 13th . Come meet other ESL families. We will have activities for the scholars and we will overview how the ESL program works in Middle School and High School and how we support your scholars through the years. Come meet other ESL families, and let’s share a small part of our culture through our food. Bring a small dish to share.
Some of the topics we’ll discuss include how your scholar entered the program, how will he/she be supported through the years, and when will he/she be able to reclassify.

Este están cordialmente invitados a una noche de ESL de 5:30 a 6:30 p.m. de la tarde en el middle school en el MPR #1 detrás de la recepción. Vengan a conocer otras familias en el programa de ESL. Tendremos actividades para los estudiantes y les explicaremos cómo funciona el programa de ESL en secundaria y preparatoria, y cómo apoyamos a sus estudiantes a través de los años. Vengan a conocer a otras familias de ESL, y compartamos un poco de nuestra cultura a través de la comida. Traigan un platillo pequeño para compartir.
Algunos de los temas que hablaremos son como clasifico su estudiante en el programa, como apoyamos a sus hijos en la escuela y cómo puede reclasificar y salir del programa de ESL.
