HOMERATHON 2024

11th & 12th Grade Curricular Celebration
Friday, November 1st, 11am-1:35pm
Upper School

Juniors and Seniors are invited to join us in celebrating the oldest and maybe best poet of the Western Tradition, Homer! The celebration will include Funeral Games (chariot races, wrestling, feats of strength), recitations, and of course, feasting and good company!

DONATE

To make this event a success we need your help! If you have a Junior or Senior scholar, please consider donating $10 to help us provide a delicious Mediterranean feast for these young warriors. If your family is able to contribute more, consider sponsoring additional students by adjusting the quantity of your purchase before adding to cart.

If you would rather donate food, we would gladly accept Baklava, Spanakopita, Dried Medjool Dates, Dolmas, Pita Bread, Hummus or Tzatziki. Please sign up HERE.

DRESS

Juniors and Seniors should plan to wear athletic clothing in order to best participate in the games. All athletic wear needs to be in compliance with school dress code guidelines. If they wish, students may also wear a costume over the top of their athletic wear. They may dress as one of the ancient Greeks from Homer’s poems, or as a Greek god or goddess. The best-dressed student will receive points for their grade toward the day’s grand prize, the Goat of Bronze!
