Field Day 2022

At Great Hearts Irving, we believe that a holistic and humane education is one that seeks to cultivate health and strength not only in the mind and heart, but also in the body. This year’s Field Day celebration is scheduled for April 1. Coach Katolik and Coach Estrada have been working diligently to plan and organize a day spent outdoors and filled with physical activity, fun games, and healthy competition.

Please note: April 1 is an early-release Friday. Lunch and student pick-up will not be affected by Field Day activities.

Volunteers Needed

We need your help! Field Day is an amazing day of fitness fun for our students, and it takes a lot of people to coordinate all the various activities. We encourage you to sign up to help run one of our many Field Day games, help students get to and from the building when they need bathroom breaks, keep our water stations filled, and more.

Field Day Volunteer Sign Up

Volunteers are encouraged to purchase and wear a Field Day shirt to show their Great Hearts Irving spirit alongside our scholars!

Field Day Shirts

We’re excited about our new Field Day t-shirt design, featuring Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and combat and bearer of the golden aegis. Field Day shirts may be worn on Field Day and on any Spirit Day throughout the school year. All shirts must be ordered by 4pm on Tuesday, March 15th, so get your family’s shirts before it’s too late!

Shirts will be delivered to your child’s classroom prior to Field Day.

Field Day Attire Guidelines

Due to the athletic nature of Field Day, students will be allowed to wear clothing more appropriate to the day in addition to their Field Day t-shirt. There are some guidelines we will ask you to adhere to in determining what clothing is acceptable to wear to school on April 1st.

Field Day Attire Guidelines

Student Lunch on Field Day

While hot lunch will be available to students who need it, we strongly encourage all students to bring a sack lunch on Field Day.

Water Bottles

Field Day is a day of fun, but rigorous, physical activity! We will have water stations set up outside, but students should be sure to bring water bottles with them to school so that they have convenient access to water whenever they need it.

Rita’s Italian Ice

Once again Rita’s Italian Ice will be joining us on Field Day. Students who would like an icy treat should bring $3 cash to school in an envelope clearly labeled with their name on or before April 1st. Your child’s classroom teacher will be able to collect and hold the money until it is needed.
