At the Great Hearts Irving Lower School, we are proud to use the Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA) to deliver phonics and reading instruction to our students with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities. MTA is a comprehensive program providing instruction in 7 key areas of literacy acquisition: alphabet skills, letter-sound association, phonological awareness, spelling, reading comprehension, writing, and listening comprehension. MTA instruction occurs in a small group setting designed for students to achieve mastery at their own pace.

MTA Info Night offers parents of Lower School students in our MTA program an opportunity to explore the curriculum and instruction their students receive daily during the school year. This year’s MTA Info Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 24th from 6 to 7pm and will be hosted virtually over Zoom. Our MTA instructor Ms. de la Chapelle will reach out directly to families receiving MTA instruction to share details on how to attend.
